GHOST BEAR

image

Last years backyard Friend also known as a Spirit Bear who spent a lot of time with me last spring thru fall.
Alas a hunter didn't care that this bear was voted by our town to be protected. A local murdered it this early summer taking not only the bears life but the spirit this bear can give to new tourists and those who didn't have the good fortunate to know or see him. This bear has more press than most people get. He made the headlines in papers all over Alaska and in Canada. He may have been killed but his Spirit is Alive and still kicking. I will never forget this awesome creature.
Below are my coyote friends who come by to beg for goodies in the dead of winter.

OUR BEING

Only but for a moment do we make this pause; And the conduct of that will be ultimately seen by the one who lives it. This is the only position that allows one to take true account. Our inevitable end stands beside those doings, while death itself waits to touch what is being witnessed. And whether one succeeds or fails is not the issue; it is what one obtains from their efforts that is of utmost value. We are perpetually living within the parameters of our inevitability. Best take countenance of that which is put forth, for it is with these eyes that we see, and what we see beckons the very intent that makes or breaks the spirit within by: Lujan Matus

I found this quote on another site and it fills me up with a truth I feel I need to follow.

My Bio

Born in Pa. moved around the U.S. for 3 years while Dad took us on a drive about...every state except Hawaii. Had a great education first hand seeing all the state parks, monuments and national parks as well. We did a bit of everything from camping out, living in hotels, even had a mansion with a maid for a few months in Florida. Folks saved and bought a Music Store in California where I taught piano at the age of 15. I had a great teacher who was begged to teach at the Juliard Conservatory but turned it down to retire teaching privately and he took me under his wing allowing me to have a lesson as soon as I would learn it so got about 3 to 4 lessons a week. I practiced any where from 4 to 8 hours a day determined to make the conservatory. I followed in his footsteps and became his assistent on all instruments to cover if is he sick . It was a great education and I met almost all of the major musicians of those years and got to be near most of them and even sing and play with a few of them. After a very sheltered childhood, I went to college, married, had four children and taught Piano, keyboards, & strings while selling paintings and other crafts I did when I got divorced and winded up in Alaska where I Longshored 20 years, managed hotel, deli and bookstore. Own http://www.skagwaywebsites.com and http://www.magic--moments.com . I am retired now in pain a lot but still love life & love my home in the woods. My favorite thing on this planet is the miracles of nature and its greatness of wild creatures yet with nothing man made is new under the sun that hasn't been done in nature first. I love interesting people who are open minded and intelligent. However I have known some people who were considered less than this by the status quo that I have found had their own type of genius like autistic children or whom some would class as a special child. I am constantly being reminded of the myriads of mysteries in this life. I love all kinds of ethnics and have a curiosity of different ways and approaches to life other than the normal. I may obey most of the laws of the land but I do not go along with things just because the majority does. I prefer making my own mind up with my own experiences and common sense. I do not always believe everything I read and feel sometimes it needs to be checked out. If it doesn't sound right, it usually isn't. I do love people, animals, nature, music, art, science, math, games, sports, and about anything that puts a sparkle in my thinking. I have learned there is no right or wrong because one mans' meat can be another man's poison. I do believe that each of us knows what is right or wrong for ourselves but not necessarily for others.
